A Place Where Water, Nature and Wellness Come Together

A Place Where Water, Nature and Wellness Come Together

There are places in the world that make you slow down, without asking you to. You arrive, look around, take a breath…and somehow the pace changes. The landscape does the work. La Maná, Ecuador is one of those places.

Tucked into the foothills of the Andean rainforest, in the volcanic region of Cotopaxi, Ecuador, La Maná is a place where rainforest, mountains, volcanic rock, and water come together in a landscape that feels remarkably untouched. It is also home to the natural source of Splendor Water. Now, for the first time, there is a way to experience that place beyond simply drinking the water: Korimana has opened as an intimate healing retreat, built around the very source that gives Splendor its identity.

At Korimana, guests can experience a deeply transformative journey, combining bespoke healing treatments, nourishing cuisine, immersive nature and peaceful rainforest surroundings to rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit.

And that connection is important.

At Splendor, we talk a lot about “Live Water.” It’s a simple idea, but one that becomes much easier to understand when you actually stand at the source. The water begins deep within an ancestral artesian aquifer beneath the Andean rainforest. Over centuries, it travels naturally through volcanic rock from the Cotopaxi volcano, before rising to the surface. Along the way, it develops its distinctive mineral composition, including naturally occurring calcium, magnesium and potassium, as well as trace elements of colloidal gold and silver—one of the only sources in the world to contain this rare mineral combination.

The water is naturally low in total dissolved solids (TDS), at approximately 31 mg/L, giving it a light, clean mouthfeel. And because it is bottled at the source, without chemical processing or artificial enhancement, its natural composition and character remain intact. That is what Splendor means by ‘Live Water.’

But Korimana adds another dimension to that idea.

Wellness has become increasingly focused on what we put into our bodies, but some of the most meaningful wellness experiences have little to do with adding anything at all. Sometimes they are about removing the noise. Getting outside. Moving your body. Sitting quietly. Eating something simple. Sleeping deeply. Drinking good water. Spending a little less time connected to a screen, and a little more time connected to where you actually are.

That philosophy is at the heart of Korimana. Set within the rainforest landscape surrounding Splendor’s source, the retreat was created as a place for restoration, reflection, and connection with nature. The setting itself becomes part of the experience, surrounded by the volcanic landscape, natural water, and the history of the region.

And there is definitely something special about experiencing the water where it begins.

You can taste Splendor anywhere…from a glass at home to a bottle picked up while traveling…but standing at the source gives you a completely different perspective. You see the landscape and understand the geology. You experience the quiet and begin to understand why protecting the source is just as important as sharing the water.

That connection between people and place is something we believe is becoming increasingly important in wellness. We are moving toward a more intentional kind of wellness…one that isn't necessarily about optimizingevery minute of the day or following the latest trend. It can be much simpler. More natural…more personal. A walk through the trees. A yoga practice. A nourishing meal. A few quiet minutes. A glass of water. The things that help us feel more like ourselves.

Korimana is currently welcoming guests to experience this environment firsthand. However, Splendor Water offers another way to connect with the same source…one that can become part of everyday life.

Because you don't have to travel to Ecuador every time you want to slow down. Sometimes, you can start with something as simple as a glass of water, take a breath, and remember to be present for the moment.
